In April 2018 Kindred Spirit doubled its management power and opened a small extra location :
Desiree Humphreys moved into the Ranch house with her daughter and her 3 Wiener Dogs and took full charge of managing the medium and big dogs at the ranch, while Martina Muller moved into Bend after living at the ranch for 6 years . Martina specializes in giving special TLC to a few little and Senior dogs at "the Cottage " in South Bend . Martina and Desiree have been working together successfully for 6 years and talk daily abut their many beloved charges. Both of them give daily adventiurous hikes to their charges . Desiree Humphreys is our acting Manager and lives at the ranch full-time .She has grown up in a pack of dogs of all sizes right here in Tumalo, worked with us for 6 years and has 4 rescued dogs of her own .
"DesI" has a degree from the NW Animal Behavior Institute, is the mother of a 11 year old and also our Artist- in Residence ( You will find her doodles and homemade signs decorate our walls everywhere) She has worked for a groomer and is happy to give your dog simple and practical haircuts for a donation . This capable and friendly young lady will inspire your confidence as soon as you meet her .
Martina Muller is the owner of Kindred Spirit and manages our "cottage" in Bend . She was born in Germany about 55 years ago. After teaching high school and raising a son here in Bend, she took classes in animal behavior, massage, and first aid. Martina started Kindred Spirit in 2006 and moved it to our current 3 acre paradise for dogs in 2012 and lived at the ranch for 6 years . She now lives in South Bend, where she cares for a few small and elder dogs at her cottage She works at the ranch ,whenever Desiree needs some time off. Martina is the"mom" of 3 rescued dogs, who help her run the operation and make her laugh out loud daily . Pablo and Sparky live with her at the cottage, while Cockapoo Kashi helps Desi run the ranch.
Kassi Walker,our dog handler is a native Oregonian as well and has been with us for 2 years . She has always loved dogs, and is a quiet, gentle presence who keeps us all happy and sane. She is a good friend to all of our dogs( even though the big and medium dogs are her "specialty) . In her free time, she likes to be in the sun with her sweetie, her bulldog Teddy, and her mom Debra.
KARA MIA is our newest dog handler. She is excited to combine her two passions in this job: her passion for being outdoors and her passion for working with animals . Growing up in Redmond in a menagerie of pets , she is excited to welcome new dogs and dog people into our community and get to know them. We are happy to have her on our team !
